A bridge so beautiful it must have been built by the devil, ancient palace gardens, romantic pathways & scenic nature – a treat for the soul
WHY SHOULD YOU GO
Have you ever wanted to feel like you’re living in a real-life fairytale? Join us to explore Rhododendron Park Kromlau, which is home to majestic nature and the stunning Rakotzbrücke. This bridge may be one of the most surreal bridges across Europe! The ‘Devil’s Bridge’ is tied to many intriguing myths and legends. For centuries, people believed that only a cooperation with the devil would allow for such a dreamlike bridge to be built. And to be honest, we can see why: on a still day, the crescent shape of the bridge connects perfectly with its reflection in the water, forming a full circle. Some have even claimed that this mystical sight is a portal to another world! Besides the Rakotzbrücke, we will explore many more unique sights in and around the park; think of unique artworks, statues, scenic nature and a castle that dates back to the 1700s.
Starting in Berlin Ostkreuz, we board the train towards Weißwasser, which marks the beginning of our hike. From here we will follow the path along ponds, lakes & trees as we head towards the park. During the hike we will have a picnic break in nature, where we’ll be able to enjoy the views all around. Besides that, we will have plenty of time to appreciate the surroundings and capture some pictures.
